Kennenbunkport in sweet memry
Over half a century has passed since my first summer at the beach. First Pine Point Maine, The , when Kennedy was elected, It was Dennisport & Harwichport. Later or maybe at same time came Kennebunkport. In my memeory we stayed the summer but in reality it was probably only a week. The high point each year in Maine was going to the Amusement Park and Pier in Old Orchard.

It hadn’t changed a whit since the 20’s. As a young boy I met a wrinkly man typing twixt Old Orchard and Ocean Park. It was only a few years ago that I realised that man was Fred Allen.

Oh we frolicked and gambolled while the adults drank drank drank and slowly but surely got the hel that was World War Two outta their sysytems. My Pa was a tail gunner on a Halifax bomber – Shot down over Holland parachuted into a canal and was hid in a hayloft by the same man who turned him in to the krauts the next day. But the beach – Oh sweet Atlantic Ocean I hear you calling me i nmy 60th year to heaven with so many of the principals in these photos dead or dying I just want to show these badly stained old slides and hope you get to Maine or the Cape- Call Me – I’ll go in a second. This ain’t much of a post but it’s dog daze in a feral world . As someone once said to me- MOre Later
